Divya Nayar studied the fundamentals of Bharatanatyam at the Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts and is a student of well-known Kalakshetra Alumnus, performer and teacher, Sri. Sheejith Krishna. A devoted disciple of the art form, her studious adherence to neat technique and a natural flair for Abhinaya has won her many praises and plaudits. She has had performance tours in India and the US, and is Dance Director at the Bharatakala School of Dance in her hometown, New Jersey.
Seeking to be completely immersed in the art of Bharatanatyam, she spends most of her time in Chennai, India, and continues to pursue her passion with discipline and dedication.
The Vocalist
Divya received training in the Carnatic style of Indian classical music at a very young age from great musicians like Vaigal Sri Gnanaskandan, and Sri Manakkal Rangarajan. Gifted with an aptitude for singing different genres of music, she has collaborated and performed with many musicians and bands, and continues to pursue her love for singing along with her passion for dance.
